The form of this stylised small horse figure on a base corresponds to the post-war biomorphic “Brussels Style”. The Mare and Stallions series represented Czechoslovak porcelain at Expo 58 in Brussels, where Carlsbad Porcelain was awarded the Grand Prix for its porcelain collection. Figures and models designed by Jaroslav Ježek were first produced in small series at Carlsbad Porcelain’s development studio in Lesov, but production was later moved to the main manufactory in Duchcov.
